Nick Neumann is a filmmaker, photographer, writer and traveler born and raised in downtown San Francisco. He holds a bachelor's degree from Occidental College in Diplomacy and World Affairs.
He founded Breaking Borders, an online publication that reports on travel, politics, and culture in Latin America. Nick covered anti-FIFA protests in Rio de Janeiro during the 2014 World Cup, he rode for days upriver on a supply ship in rural Paraguay and traveled to La Rinconada, the world’s highest inhabited town in Peru. His journalism work for Breaking Borders was picked up by Netflix, Business Insider, Sky TV and more.
In 2016, Nick joined LensCulture, a prominent Dutch photography magazine, where he produced over 50 video essays profiling photographers and artists across Europe. After traveling to 54 countries, Nick brought his international experience home to embark on a journey across the US at one of the most critical moments in US history.
He published a book about the journey, Highways Less Traveled and created his first solo exhibition featuring his photos from the journey at Venus & Victory in downtown San Francisco. He is currently curating new exhibitions, organizing the SF Art Walk and creating new video projects.
